I went to a bunch of garage sales and asked for old coins/pennies whatever like you did and advised. They looked at me like I was crazy. I thought to myself "that JoeTurbo got me". Ha, one guy did say that I was the second to ask that.

Funny thing: the 1976 blue book didn't even mention this variety.

I believe it took some time to realize there were 2 varieties of the 1970 S cent. Just like the 1974D DDO Half wasn't known widely until the late 80's

Message to seller.....

I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I received my mint set today in the mail. Not only is it in fact a LARGE DATE, but it is also an entirely different item than the one pictured in your listing.

You went above and beyond to explain the differences between large and small date in your messages to me. All of which I already knew, and had made me feel much more confident that I was dealing with a reputable seller.

I removed the penny, put it into my album, and compared it to the 70-S large date that sits right next to that spot. I was BEYOND myself to learn that it is not what I purchased from you.

I have disputed this with paypal. Please advise how you would like to proceed.

I have not left any feedback, and see you have done the same. I am not here to further tarnish anyone's reputation, but expect an honest, and good faith resolution.

Thank you,
Joseph
