Julian II was the last of the family. Jovian was a ranking Christian on Julian's death and the powers of the day wanted a Christian after the Pagan Julian. As far as I can tell, Jovian did little of note in his short reign other than making life hard on pagans. There is even some question as to whether the selection of Jovian was based on some confusion as to who he was but I have never understood those arguments. You even read different accounts of how he died (mushrooms and carbon monoxide poisoning) and just how accidental his death was. Since he was related to neither of the rulers before and after him, he is usually lumped into the preceding dynasty of Constantine. After Jovian, Valentinian founded his dynasty making a good place to start a new RIC volume. I have never met anyone who specialized in the coins of Jovian. A high percentage are a bit 'ordinary'.

Well-preserved coin and great detail ACG  If you don't mind I'll show off my only Jovian, minted in Antioch. Looks pretty nice, right?  Dun, dun, dunnn....   (How it arrived)  I noticed when it arrived that it had some spots of BD, so I soaked it for a couple of hours and it became whats shown in the second and third photos. Put it in the oven a couple times, then soaked it for another couple of weeks. And then I put it in the oven two more times and finally the BD was gone as shown in the first picture. I like to call it my "BD success story"  Edited by VisigothKing

#6:  Geta, Pautalia 198 - 209 A.D. Obv: Λ CΕΠT ΓΕTAC, draped and cuirassed bust right Rev: OVΛΠIAC ΠAVTAΛI-AC, snake emerging from cista The outside edges are slightly tattered and there is a diggers mark on the obverse, but I think this coin is neat. I had never seen a coin with this type of reverse before I found this one.

#7: Number 6 did not seem to garner much interest, so hopefully this one will!  Maximinus II, Heraclea 305 - 306 A.D. Obv: GAL VAL MAXIMINVS NOB CAES, laureate head right, divergent laurel ties Rev: GENIO POPV-L-I ROMANI, Genius standing left, modius on head, naked but for chlamys over left shoulder, liquid flowing from patera in right hand, cornucopia left. HTB in exergue. This coin is massive! It feels like it has real value when you hold it. Apart for its size, I like the patina and the perfect roundness of it.

You say this coin is massive? Let's see what the size and weight is. If not, a comparison in size to a modern US coin might help. I like those large follis coins during this era. My Constantius I coin is a whopping 27.68 mm, on the light side at 6.4g.
