I have a very nice 50 dollar sawtooth shovel that has a sharp point to dig in the hard soil, but it is still very hard to dig into frozen ground. Does anybody have a suggestion:a hammer, or lesche, or even a heavy duty knife. Or should I wait until the ground is thawed. Does anybody have an idea.
I think it is best to wait until the ground thaws a bit ,, the potential damage to a valuable collectable is much higher if you have to chip the ground away.
But If you still want to detect then make up a bunch of little ribbons on a stake like a nail and just mark the signals to dig later.
