Mkman123, those are great! They both seem to have a decent shot at a cameo grade. I will cross my fingers for you on the 59... That's a tough coin in cameo and yours looks really nice.

I picked up a proof Ben today at a show. I traded a brilliant 55 and the 56 pictured in an earlier post, plus a few dollars for this 1956. It's now raw (broken out of some random basement slab).

Bottom line, I fell in love with the toning. There is cameo, enough I hope for a pcgs designation. These pics stink, mainly looking to show the toning. Will take better ones and hopefully show the toning.

I give you Fireball!

Hondo, cool 1956, ya gotta love some of the toning these coins can get.

mkman, that 1959 does look cameo with your photographs, 59 is a really tough year for cameos.

From the new pics, you guys think I have a shot at cameo on this guy? I think so, but sometimes I think the tone makes the cameo almost an afterthought...

Anyone have any thoughts?

The bell certainly looks like a cameo. The color on it are awesome.

Hondo, your "fireball" franky is pretty! Defnitely strong frost on the head and the bell!

Here are my new cam frankies......both were under $40 each, not bad I think!

mknam123, those are awesome!
did you get them for that price slabbed, or did you send them in yourself?

I just today dropped my 56 type 1, 56 (fireball), my 61 and 63 to go off to pcgs for grading. and now...... I wait. ha

Guys, I thought I'd respond to this thread with a scan of the album page holding my Franklin Proofs (obverse).
The later dates were purchased raw; however, the early ones were purchased in slabs - 1950 NGC-PF64 - 1951 NGC-PF64 - 1952 NGC-PF62 - 1953 PCGS-PF-63.
Nothing in the set that just jumps off the page at you, but I'm kind of happy to have completed them. Especially since my original intention was to just get one for type.
