Hi All,

How much do you think I should pay for this Buffalo, 1913S-T1 MS62? I like the coin but I live in constant fear of overpaying. The guy wants $167.00 for it.

retail on it is around $150....wholesale for a MS 63 example is around $140....for around $170 you shouldn't have a hard time finding something in the MS 63 range

F.M.V. on the coin itself is around $150.00 (not figuring in the slab)I personally never do anyway :)
Dealer graysheet would be a little less.
Someone did just recently though pay over $200.00 for a PCGS
AU-58 on ebay. So you never know. If you like it and want it
for your collection and not to re sell in the near future, then buy it. Maybe haggle a bit on the asking price.

It's a nice looking coin. I think it got an MS-62 and not a 63 because of the gash next to the large feather on Indians hair. Also looks like another one from the mound up to Buffalo's left front leg. Think I would hold out for a better coin.

Thanks Guys. I didn't notice the gashes and I thought the price was a little high. I emailed the dealer asking if he would do $140 and he replied that he was sticking to the $167. I think I'll keep looking.

Sort of what I'd do on this one too. Pass.
The only problem is to find another one even better or the same for a lesser price. May or may not ever happen.

I would worry about over paying for a coin only if I was gonna flip it and try to make a quick buck.

The only MS63's that go for more than that at Heritage are the ones in a PCGS slab, and only about half of them exceed $160.
