2 Cent Errors - Seen These Before? - Coin Community Forum

Silvernut New Member Australia 48 Posts	Posted 06/25/2012 04:36 am Hi all, Spent a few hours yesterday arvo going through some 2 cent coins I have and found 1 missing SD initials along with a few others with some errors. The one pictured here was the most interesting with the bottom half of the letters appearing crushed on the obverse, and some odd markings on the reverse. Can someone tell me if these are real errors and what caused them? Report this Post to the Staff

How many great coins have been ruined because they have the misfortune to be located at the ends of the Chubb or Armaguard bankrolls I have seen lots during my "noodling" sessions. enworb Pillar of the Community Australia 4411 Posts	Posted 06/25/2012 9:43 pm The rolling machines can do a very decent job of hacking a coin to death. A real shame really. I have come across a couple 1972 5c with damage from one and they were so sad I couldn't take them away from their friends and they were released.
