Just found this in my change not sure what to make of it. I don't think it's post mint damage, it seems like there wasn't enough metal to make a complete rim. Any suggestions or are they common. and it's just on the Queen's side also.

Normal coin front, back and close-up of rim

Hi Northener0....Welcome to the forum.

Check to see where the rim is affected that there is a letter punched on the edge of the coin in the same place as the bulge/defect.

Lots and lots of new toonies are like this, in fact, I think that perfect examples may be a bit rare. New steel quarters have this effect, too, but on a lower scale, plus they're harder to see.
