Clair for what its worth I've always sent my coins in OGP to PCGS and they just send the OGP back with the slabbed coins. Then again maybe thats why I got all 69s lol

I ordered 8 sets from the Mint during the 1st week (7/27 ship date) and quite a few MCM $229 NGC70 sets.
The NGC 70's at that price were a no brainer in my book....

I ordered two sets on opening day. I'll be really bummed if that RP ends up selling for $600+ in six months, but I've spent way too much money on various silver products over the last few months and had to draw the line somewhere. Had the mintage been limited or had there been a household limit, I probably would have bought more...

I am going to say the aftermarket sets are going to come down in price before long.

I picked up 2 sets. Now if everyone who ordered these were limited to one per person (household) these coins might be worth more....LOL :)

With this set have almost exactly the same mintage as the 2006 set but having two coins that are only available in the set, I just don't see the value dropping. The 2006 sets hit a low long after sales closed that was well over twice the issue price and that value increase was almost entirely a result of the single unique coin, the reverse proof. Again, with the 2011 set, the value increase has been mostly attributable to the two unique coins in the set. Now we have a set that is nothing but the two unique coins and some are expecting the value to drop below the issue price even though that price was effectively a better deal than the 2011 set. I do think that for those who collect slabbed coins and who appreciate perfection, they may be able to fill the spaces in their collections for less money (and certainly less hassle) by buying aftermarket but they won't be paying anything near issue prices. MCM looks to be setting prices at $220 for 69s and $290 for 70s and they should not have any problems selling out at those prices. We will have the final sales number this afternoon and I don't see anyway that the last few hours will account for enough to put any distance between this set and the 2006 offering which sold just over 248K units with a 10 per household limit. With no limits to workaround, this set looks to come in at about 3% to 5% above the 2006 number, a very modest increase considering what looks to be much increased interest in silver Eagles in the past six years.

I just don't see there being any immediate flip potential unless you luck out and get a bunch of 70s maybe. I figure I may still get ONE set but it will be a set of 70s. If I am going to pay a big premium for silver I may as well make sure I get the BEST examples.
