I got one which was highly suspect once. Off centre more than usual, mushy design and the edge lettering was a bit strange but it was decided that it was just a lower grade one from the mint.

Interesting ! Who decided it was just lower grade ? This has got me wondering about how many other low grade coins does the mint inadvertently let into circulation ....

GOt another today. A bridge one - I see a lot of them around here, I think its the local counterfieters favourite type. Mushy, edge sucks...uneven strike too.

Ive seen some of those around here - this one was a Menai Suspension Bridge one. I had to go look it up - I'm terrible at the UK series.

Found another one yesterday. Looked really worn but I think they mistruck it. The edge was screwwwwwed. Hardly worth doing it if it turns out like that.

Interesting stuff , I got a 2001 fake 1 pound coin this afternoon. I also havent come across a fake 2 pound coin - speaking of which there are times when its quite tough to get a 2 pound coin in the change let alone a fake one ......

Found another nice fake. This one a nice example. If anyone wants it, its £1 + postage to anyone outside of the UK. If you want it in the UK, I'd have to deface it (chop it in half, grind a face off, punch an F or something) so it cant reenter circulation.

Very nicely made dies for the reverse and obverse - worn as a real one would be at its age. Struck with good pressure - well raised motif. Reverse is off center and railroaded. Thats what tipped me off to check the edge, which is terrible - wonky, mistruck and misformed.

Reeding was applied before the letters. Some letters aremissing, many extend past the rim and all are mishapen.
