I have the same experience here in Canada, a surprising amount of wheaties found while searching rolls. I guess it's because collectors here in Canada are after Canadian coins primarily, and vice versa in the USA. I have only ever found one George V penny in countless rolls searched...

When I go through a box of pennies I usually find about 5 wheats and 10 CDN pre 1959

Any tips on how to quickly go through the boxes of coins? I think I spend way too much time on them. I'm curious to what others do...

Here in the middle of the US (Kentucky) I've come across a 1920 Canadian in a roll. Can't get older than that in a roll of small cents! Great luck for your first roll search by the way. Hope it continues!
