I am particularly interested in Oklahoma. Also, whether thy accept half dollars. And does the casino have machines that accept coins or just ticket slots.

Please talk about your experience and you location regionally.

I have before here in Reno, however, they have limits now on how much you can cash in. Some casinos here will only redeem a full coin bucket while others have max limits per visit, like $250. Since a lot of these casinos are using electronic ticketing, they don't have the coin counting machines readily available.

I'm in Nevada as well. Coins are a thing of the past in the casinos around here. Although I believe halves are still used on blackjack tables.

In Detroit area casinos, they are all using electronic ticketing/cash $ Bills only, they do have a Coin Star coin counting machine available but it takes 9.7% for using it.

We were headed to Vegas next week and I thought about taking my penny dump to the penny slots. Unfortunately I found out penny slots do not take pennies.

Halves are still used at most poker tables (ie Hold'em) where they may need to divide a hand between 2 or more players. Whenever I leave with winnings I always try to cash out in half dollar rolls.

I only learned recently that many places have coin wrapping and counting machines so the silver in these places is most likely very close to nil. That being said I'll still continue getting rolls with my winnings...

I spent some time in casino's and I agree coins are virtually a thing of the past. The half dollars on black jack are to pay out blackjack on odd abouts like $15 and in that instance they are very often thrown back to the dealer as a tip so they dont need so many of them really.

Here in the UK it is barely worth roll searching (because there is no silver and very few interesting coins to look for...though I need to search 50p peices for a 2008 britania reverse that I still havent found in my change, if you have one feel free to send it to me :P) but we have fruit machines in pubs and also betting shops have roulette and black jack machines which take coins but payout a ticket (which can be exchanged for cash) you can load up the betting machines and hardly play them and then take the ticket to the desk and hey presto...lat time I did that I doubled my investment (way better than a coinstar!)

I know that most casino's are TITO now but as mentioned, most still have use for half dollars. I was hoping someone would reply and say they have experience with casinos that are have a coin counter available to costumers.
