Okay, so I didn't get any groundbreaking valuable pennies, but I got myself $5 worth, not expecting to get anything exciting, besides copper pennies. I had the typical rolls with red stripes, and three solid rolls. I didn't expect to get wheat pennies, but I did! every other roll with the red stripes have one or two wheats, which was impressive. However, when I got to the solid red ones, which had the name of a bank stamped on them (I saved them for last, because they looked the oldest), and was taken aback by the contents! Every penny in all three rolls was 1990 or earlier. One of them had no wheats, the other had 5, and the other had 19!! One of them even had a steel penny as well! However, disappointment was aplenty when it came down to the fact that many of them had some corrosion - whoever handled these pennys must have had them in a bad place. The steel cent was smothered by it's greenish-white patina. However, a wheat is a wheat to me, and since they're unusual, I'm going to save em up until I have a roll, and then I'll decide what to do with them.
I didn't get any key or unusual dates, though I got 3 1955s and 3 1941s, but with no doubling - oh well. The most rare one I found is a 1932, but again, nothing too out of the ordinary. So in total, it came to 33 wheat pennies, and ~ 140 coppers(minus wheats), so 16% wheats and 28% coppers. I've never searched pennies before, but I know that wheat ratio is off the charts! I'm going back to the bank on Monday and going to happily ask if she has any more rolls that have a bank stamp on them. I need my wheaties! lol

to CCF. You said you didn't find any DD's but are you also looking for RPM's? That's a nice pull that you got with such a small amount of rolls, congrats. John1

RPMs? I'm not sure what those are. But yet again, I still don't know what a lot of the terminology in the hobby are yet.
EDIT:
I think I may also want to add that I believe the reason why I have so many good finds at my bank, is because they are full of customer wrapped coins. That usually yields the best finds, right?

RPMs are repunched mint marks and can be found on Lincoln cents before 1990. Before 1990 the mintmarks were all added to the die by hand.

Derek,if you don't have any use for the rolls with bank names on them, send them my way,I collect wrappers with bank names. That goes for all you folks,I need any wrappers with bank names on them. I know, you are thinking I must be nuts ,and, you are probably right, but I love the history of banks.

I think it's funny that when I get boxes or rolls of coins I often find wheaties as I'm Canadian. I am finding way more interesting American coins than Canadian. I've just started this hobby for about a month and so far I snagged a 1921 american penny, but the oldest Canadian is 1940. Does anyone else experience that? Or vice versa if you live in the States...

I have the same experience here in the states only in reverse, I find George V and George VI pennies all the time, and I can tell you, those make me a lot happier than finding a wheat.
