I've actually got a much better picture of the '24-S now; I didn't have my new camera gear a couple months ago when I submitted it: 1924-S Mercury Dime by CaptainFwiffo, on Flickr@jbuck: If I happen have new pictures of any of my other submissions in the queue, would you prefer those?

Hey Captain, I know you are a pro when it comes to Winged Liberty dimes. Could you please educate me as to why this coin was 90.00? I obviously need a lot of learning to be able to grade accurately. The original pic does not show full bands correct?
As to Steve's PhilIITet:
$420.00

No, it's not FB, it's not even MS. Even something like MS62FB is something like a $500+ coin though.
It's nice AU, I'd call it AU55; some might say AU58. It's also gorgeous in hand and completely original. Numismedia lists it at $94 in AU50 and $132 in AU55 (discount accordingly for a raw coin).
1924-S is among worst made dates of the whole series. This example, however, is well struck in the center and periphery lettering of both sides, including the last digit of the date, the center and lower part of the fasces, and the hair. Most examples are poorly struck from heavily worn dies, and look really rough and ragged, not crisp like this one (this is true of a lot of the San Fran dates of the 20s).
I guess it's not an amazing price, but it's a fair price for what I consider a really premium example for the grade.
