Captain, this is a nice 1924 S dime (one that I would buy). When I saw this, I pulled out the one that I have, which is also what I would grade AU, and I paid a similar price. If only I had guessed 2 hours earlier I would have hit it on the nose. My 1924 S is not as detailed in the hair as yours, but the center bands on the reverse are almost complete.
Now for the ancient coin (no idea here):
