Anybody know where the Dansco Albums are made at?
Dansco is based in Los Angeles, I believe their product is made on site. Definitely made in the USA, as imprinted inside the back cover.

Littleton albums are made in the US so far as I know. They do not have a good reputation in some quarters- I mentioned
considering them on the ebay coin board and got pounded. A couple of posters said they are not archival and one claimed he had some damage with using them.

I have a question about Intercept Shield and Dansco albums: do the pages of each brand fit in albums of the other brand?
the reason I am asking, I have Dansco albums, but the gold type page from Intercept Shield would work better with my collection

Many coin Album pages would fit in other Album binders. However, you may need a hole punch to make the holes align properly. Also, you should note the different sizes of those pages. For example Dansco pages are higher and deeper than Whitman so a Dansco page would stick out if placed in a Whitman Folder. However, Whitman Pages can easily be placed in a Dansco Album cover. NOt sure about Intercept shield pages though. You would have to measure the pages. The main thing is the alignment of the holes.

thanks for the info just carl
I have almost decided to put them in 2x2's and use an album to hold them. I dislike some company telling me what coins make a set.

I bought over the Internet on E-Bay an Intercept - it is made in China, but my main concern is right on the back side of the cover - which I did not see or read until after I put my coins in, the manufacturer itself of INTERCEPT SHIELD states this "to maintain maximum corrosion protection it is recommended that this Intercept Shield Product be replaced every fifteen (15) years." I informed E-Bay that there was no statement about this need to replace so often and that E-Bay should require sellers off INTERCEPT to state this 15 year policy. A leading Internet selling of Coin Albums of various brands told me by phone that it is only selling the Intercepts it still has in stock since it sells so few and it does put INTERCEPT's 15 year policy statement under the description of each Intercept it sells. I realize that Dansco, etc. do NOT last forever but I know people who have had them much longer than 15 years without any problems. I would not have bought my INTERCEPT if the seller on E-Bay had stated its 15 year policy to replace.

My oldest Dansco albums are almost 28 years old now. No complaints.

My intercept type set pages are thinner than all of my dansco ones. You could probably easily put an intercept in a dansco but the other way around may be a little odd with how the folder sits afterwards. There does however seem to be enough extra space in the intercept album to fit at least 1 dansco page without issue, not sure about the other series

The Concept of the Intercept Shield albums I Like.
Bought a Type Set Album to replace my reliable Dansco 7070.
After transferring my coins (or Attempting to) I found the holes will not allow the following coins to be inserted.
1857 Coronet Head Large Cent hole is to small
1875-s Twenty Cent Piece hole is to small
Contacted the Mfg. and response was not good, told me contact the dealer (Wizard) which stated that the hole was to small on there website so too bad.
Asked Mfg if they were in the process of getting a corrected page for the product and they just ignored my request for information.
As for the Twenty Cent Piece issue they claim that it should fit, but it does not.
Welcome to made in China
Just thought it would be nice to have the intercept shield to slow down any tarnish but if you can not put the coins in the album what good is it.
For coins that are all the same size (Lincoln Cents, Mercury dimes etc...) they are probably a great product, but after the response that I got from the Type Set catastrophe I do not think that I will ever buy another Intercept Shield Album again.

Just wish someone would make a nice Type Set Album that is updated to include the new types available today and have them accept the coins like they should.

Mine has the same problem with the Large Cent, I havent gotten a 20 cent piece yet so I cant comment on that. I really wish Dansco would update theirs or intercept would fix the hole. Right now Id really like a 7070 and put the intercept modern page in at the end

I wish the type sets would include more of the type coins like the early Half Cent, 1793 copper cents, all the 3 cent piece's and some if the newer coins.. the dansco holds 76 coins without the gold page so there is alot of room for improvement.... I have been looking at all the type set albums avail and the whitman trifolds are the only ones that have a nice large assortment of coins to add but they are single sided and not really a show piece like the dansco albums... just my 2 cents on a good thread.. PEACE
