Neither
(it's almost always ziploc baggies for me - some of the coins I acquired in 2011 are in albums, and a few random pieces are in 2x2s because that's how I bought them, but essentially everything else is in tiny individual ziplocs)

Flips for the coins getting ready to go to PCGS or better AU coins in sets.
Airtites for the coins worth over $100.
2x2 for the lower grade coins.
Tubes for the ASE's.

I can't vote because you don't include coin cabinets! People I know here in the UK use things like Lindner-type coin trays (sometimes with 2"x2"s, others with capsules or just 'raw'), cabinets and acid-free paper envelopes as well as those you've listed.

Tubes and flips I suspect aren't as popular here.

Albums for sets I am building. 2x2s for coins that were just cool or didn't make the album. Flips for coins I am waiting to send in. I also like the Harris 2x2 that is hard plastic... interesting varieties go in those.

I went with a bit of everything however I would say that 95% of my collection is in 2x2s. I do have some in airtites and tubes.

I picked 2x2's because that is what my entire collection is in with the exception of my Roosevelt Album, Kennedy Album, And type set folder.

Note to whywing:
"Do you collect Barber dimes? My favorite!"

I use whatever I have that is appropriate to the coin. Unlike many collectors,
I am not afraid of the good ol' standing 2X2. Flips for halves and dollars can be tricky if
you do not have 2 1/4 inch flips. And anything bigger than a dime really need a staple or two.

All but one of my Barber dimes are in a Dansco. The only exception is the 1895-O which has a pedigree and a provenance. It went through Heritage back about 7 years ago.

But, every collector much choose for him or herself.

I have a few but they are not something I am currently focusing on. Once I get more of a handle on my Roosevelt collection I will begin to be more active on Barbers. This isn't to say that if I see one I like I won't pick it up, I have done and will continue to do so. :)

Well said,whywing!

Roosevelts should be easy. Do you have any problems with them?

@matthewvincent

I was going to take this to PM, so as not to derail the thread, but I cant quite figure out how to send a PM.

The only hard part about my Roosevelt set is the quality I want each specimen to be in. I am shooting for a minimum of BU but so far I have been able to find everyhting in MS if not proof. I was also restricted to my local coin shop because I am leery of buying coins on-line. I recently started making small ebay purchases, that way if they ended up not being the quality I was promised I wasn't out too much. Thus far I have had a very pleasant ebay experience so I anticipate the rate at which I am completing my set to increase.

2X2 white Holders for whole collection (Lower value though---classed as each coin individually under 100.oo)....That way can place in & out of pages as yu feel like it,, or in tins, or cabinets or, or , or , or plastic boxes, or , or.... If yu like what would a Numismatist say every 15 or 20 years ? replace them in a new 2x2?/ maybe with new olice oil too.......
