I just bought one of these to house my Lincoln Cents- I had used Dansco and beofre that, a Littleton album. I like the Intercept one the best. The green background really works well for copper coins, they just look brighter and better in this album. I also like that it comes with the corrosion shield already supplied, I don't have to buy a slipcase. One negative, they are made in China. That wouldn't have been a deal breaker for me but it may be for some.
It only goes to 2007 so I will need another one to continue with the Shield series. I understand that one is not available yet. Any comments from users welcome.

I think intercept Shield Albums are no longer being made. And thats a shame as I also think these are the best Album I have ever used. You might try keeping and eye out for the needed pages on e-bay.

Those were never really that popular. Lots of people say those were fantastically great Albums. Yet not many purchased them. Never saw them for sale at coin stores or coin shows.

Wait! No longer made? I just bought a cent album from Wizard supplies and they have several listed in stock. Jake's also lists them. The Wizard site shows a couple of them out of stock bit I think says 'available soon'. I wonder if someone took them over, amyone know?

I think they are still around. http://www.interceptshield.comOf course, a website can linger for years after a company's demise. There is contact information on the page, so maybe someone could just ask them.

I've been using this album about a week now and there seem to be a few issues. The coin openings are a little loose- you turn the page a few times and the coins rotate, very annoying. The material is fine but I was expecting someing a bit better, as I said the album I got had a "made in China" tag on it and it sort of looks like it was. I now wonder if the makers outsourced to China and the ones you get new now are a bit inferior? The jury is still out on this for me..

I used to have albums where the coin was placed into the insert made for it, and a clear slide window passed over the coins, to protect them them.
I was not keen on the idea, because of the risk of small particles getting between the underside of the slide window and the faces of the coins.
I also was not keen on the idea of the glue holding the album together eventually failing, and forming small particles, or gassing out, to the detriment of the coins that the album was supposed to protect.
Changed to Mylar 2x2's in archival quality non PVC album pages, in 4 - ring binders, many years ago.

As in that link from jbuck, it was noted that Intercept Shield was purchased in 2006. Quote: Intercept Preservation Products, LLC is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Intercept Shieldâ„¢ Distribution / TRCS, LLC effective April 1, 2006. Now I haven't seen a new one but if made in China, it should or might be noted on them. I wonder if the old ones were made in China or is it the new ones since the company was bought by someone. That is the problem that faces Whitman today. Once solely owned by Whitman, now owned by Harris. Quality went down for coin products since basically a book company now. If you have a recent Intercept Shield Album, see if it says China and if so, let us know. OR might be worth a message sent asking that. It is much cheaper to make American and Australian products in China, to the detriment of the manufacturing industries in America and Australia.
Sometimes, the Chinese products can be of better quality. Mercedes-Benz now builds the E Class in China. (except for AMG versions)
So MAYBE this could also apply to coin storage products.

Anybody know where the Dansco Albums are made at? I use a lot of Intercept Shield plastic 2 x 2' for my coins and I use their lined boxes. Have no regret yet. Had not heard a thing about them being out of business. Like the products but Dansco Albums are my favorite.

Well I gave my new Interept Shield album a month. There are still issues. Some of the coins have rotated almost 90 degrees just from handling. This would not be an issue for many people but it is for me; it bothers me and I can't be going in and repositioning them every week or so. So, I doubt I am getting more of them. Maybe this was just an issue for the cent albums, I don't know. This album had a 'made in China' sticker on it. I tried to contact the company via their website and my email bounced back. Sort of tells you something. I do not care for Littleton albums, the 3 ring system keeps pages hanging up when turning. Whitman has the aura of tradition attached but I sort of think they may be an inferior product. Dansco it fine but don't care for the light brown page color. Any commernts?

my dansco type album had some holes that were bigger than the coin like this but its because of the differences in date and the different tolerances the coin could be I imjagine. I just took a mylar 2x2 flip and cut shims and placed them around the coins to hold them tight and they never turned again. Some coins needed two shims cut for them the holes were so big but this is what I did to solve the lose coin problem. The hardest part is cutting them thin enough that the inserts will fit back in. I actually liked it allot better because the shims would definitely keep the inserts off the surface of the coin

I have a question about Intercept Shield and Dansco albums: do the pages of each brand fit in albums of the other brand? the reason I am asking, I have Dansco albums, but the gold type page from Intercept Shield would work better with my collection
