I saw a thread about a War Nickel set that had some awesome toning, which got me looking at other War Nickels, so here is a beautiful example. I read that the 1943-D is the most common of the War Nickels, but I feel that this is an exceptional example! What do you think PCGS had to say about this one? (I wish this was mine!) Ron Guth: The 1943-D Jefferson nickel is the most common of all the War-time "Silver" issues. Thus, collectors have thousands of high-grade Mint State examples from which to choose, including hundreds in MS-67. The quality of the 1943-D Nickels is excellent. In fact, this is one of the rare instances where the Full Step population exceeds that of the non-Full Steps. The finest examples certified by PCGS (as of February 2012) include 137 MS-67 non-Full Steps and 2 MS-68 Full Steps.http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/CoinDe...4020&redir=t

Grading is done but I was gonna say MS-67 Full steps.

Hopper, I would say that since it was a PCGS Article, that would be the source of the numbers.  Edited by oih82w8
