Hey there, I've come upon this 1903 Idian Cent. However, I've got some questions. It appears to be "brightened" or has had some sort of processes done to it to perserve it. It appears to be very bright and have an orangy hue to it. It almost looks like very bright bronze. Any idea what happened to it? Does it have decreased value now?

Looks to have been polished.

The coin was not 'preserved', it was ruined. It might have been worth a couple of $ before it was damaged, now its worth a lot less. Too bad.

Could have been gold plated to use as jewelry. Looks like it may have worn off in places.

I would guess someone tried to clean the IHC but ruined it. To bad another classic coin bites the dust.

Damn, I knew something funny was done to it. Do you think this coin is worthless now? (Not that it was worth a lot to begin with.)

Your coin appears to have F12 Details but as mentioned, harshly cleaned. $1-2 max.

Alright, thanks. Still, not a bad find for 25 cents.
