I made these last night. This morning I spent them at the bank to pay off my HELOC to finally be 100% debt free. I had to pass the teller a paper buck to get them back to hold as a symbolic keepsake sort of like the framed dollar bill hanging above the cash register in every small business that was the first dollar they ever made.

I'm curious how you make counter-stamped coins?

To captainrich, I agree they are collectible I guess what I meant is according to information I've read if a coin is counter-stamped it's worth no more than face value, therefore "not collectible" although I'd be happier finding these than a common date wheatie.

I picked this up today at the CSNS show. Most likely engraved and not counterstamped.

Agree ... engraved. This commemorative would be a love token, celebrating a birth, likely in 1892. While this is by no means fancy, unlike most love tokens, this type host coin is one that's been rarely used for a love token.

I see upthread that someone was lucky to find 49/50 states of the 1976 series in a few rolls. Well, last night I just found one (Florida) in a machine-wrapped roll, and now I have 49 states to go:

And, here is the strangest coin I have found so far in coin roll searching: Note that in addition to counterstamping, there is a cut through the coin! Any ideas who "Jim" might be?
