That's fine. If you think it's good enough you can send it. And also send me price and date of purchase (if you remember - just month and year is good).

The lens that comes with a T2i will not fill the frame with most coins unless you add accessories like extension tubes. However you can shoot loosely and crop with still good results. Color is never 'off' with RAW; you have to tell it what color balance to use in the conversion process when you switch from RAW to JPG. Canon is great providing free software to do this (DPP) but the instructions they provide are a bit less than might be desirable. Many people find it easier to set the balance on the camera using Manual white balance but the RAW file is the same either way. It is just easier to see where you are starting if the camera is displaying something close to what you will eventually want. I used to do all my photos in RAW and still do all except coins. With the controlled lighting of my coin rig, I now take the easy way and do JPG's with MWB and careful control of the exposure.

Bump. One last coin. Doesn't have to be a very nice looking or expensive one.

Since it has been this difficult to get one last coin I have a backup coin that was submitted to me by one of the members who already sent me a coin. The rule is that submitters receive 8 extra points for sending in a coin, so if no one else comes forward with a coin, I'm going to have to use this member's second coin and give them 16 extra points, giving them a pretty big advantage over the rest. Just want to put this out there.

This thread confuses me. There are regular posts to it bringing it to the top but where are the coins?

Doug, I believe that there is a need for people to submit coins to VK with their prices. There is a need to a minimum number of coins to be submitted for the competition for people to guess the prices to begin. It would appear that this minimum number has yet to be reached. Martin

Is it me or are ancients cheaper in the USA than Europe? I say that because whenever I spot a real bargain it is from a seller that only ships within America. (Wayne C Phillips on Vcoins had a couple of coins I couldn't buy for example)
