The Royal Cdn Mounted Police "Musical Ride" $50 bill from 1975 with 50 handsome dudes on horses on the back plus one on the front has got to be the most "handsome" Cdn bill in my collection!

A handsome note indeed Malibu but I only counted 32 on horseback and are they all 'handsome'? Perhaps they positioned all the 'ugly' ones in the forefront!

Technically this is called the "Dome Formation", I've seen it 3 times in my lifetime in Calgary, Toronto and Montreal. Its awesome to see and gives us Canadians a great sense of pride. The USA has nothing to compare with this!
@thai-vic: you're observant! in fact there are also quite a few female officers in the RCMP Musical Ride and since about 1995 there are Sikh members who have the right to wear turbans in the Musical Ride if they choose, which is what makes this country great!

Had to dig it out of the safe, but here he is. Now I'm not sure this is a "Bank Note"? I'm more into coins so I'm lost here.

Jaymon74 - Yep, it's a banknote! A nice one too! I like Mt. Fuji on the back - I have a large photo of Mt. Fuji in my living room.
Austrokiwi - That's one fine banknote there! I really like that leopard on the front. You don't see leopards or cheetas too often... usually tigers or lions, South Africa being a modern exception.

99% of my collection is back home, but I picked up some Omani Rial a couple weeks ago. I'll get them posted in the next day or so. They're really very nice and colorful.

So..not really knowing much about such things..what's the difference between a bank note and currency issued by the gov? What's the uses and reason behind them?

I have seen discussions( on line) go on for weeks about the definitions and differences of bank notes and currency, I understand it as Currency is the type of money used by a state such as US dollars,GBP, Euro, etc. While a bank note is a legally approved paper/polymer representation of a specified amount of the relevant currency.

@ james4444: Quote: Could you please provide more info. on why it's called Dome Formation? because the 32 mounted police officers are holding their lances in a circle pointing up and towards the middle so it forms a sort of lance dome.
