Continuing my zoological themed banknotes here are the insects. Surprisingly rare on banknotes I've found.
Butterflies from Mexico and various types on Sri Lankan notes.

Some kind of fire beetle from Suriname

And my personal favourite this delightful spider from Scotland

So does anyone have any others?

ASLAN, I think you'll find that's a Maori koruru (Gable mask) rather than a butterfly and represents the face of an honoured ancestor.

This Dutch 50 gulden note shows a bee on a sunflower:

Also, here is a German 500 mark note with a wasp on the obverse ...

... and a butterfly one the reverse:

Vic, I think you have the newer 2012 Mexico 50 pesos. Now all you need is the older versions (2004, 2006...). It is almost identical except that the windows on the newer bill are more colorful (plus it is embossed).

I've always liked these two notes - Sweden and Faeroe Islands

Really nice detail on those, Dave. Here's a note from France, using paper watermarked with the outline of a bee. You can see it best at the 7 o'clock position from the '0.50'. This is a Chamber of Commerce issue, and of course bees represent doing work, keeping busy, and have always been a symbol of commerce.
