Hi all, has anybody used or subscribed to the new SCWPM competitor, The Banknote Book? For those that haven't seen it its a new online and print reference for world paper money. (Newish anyway). I tried the free download and it seems pretty nice. From what I read and saw its a work in progress and is still missing some pretty major countries such as China. They want $100 a year for an online subscription and at this point its not worth that to me but maybe as it completes it will be. Anybody subscribing or using it now? Any thoughts?

So I have contributed to the Banknote Book and have read the SCWPM. The banknote book is more detailed and a better book. Yes it is missing many countries and the cost is a bit on the expensive side. If you really want to build a list for your collection get the free excel file of the banknote book. It lists the notes and some detail.

The best site, and very detailed for world banknotes is http://www.banknote.ws Regularly updated and contains images of all of the notes even ones missing in the SCWPM.

As always if you have images of any notes missing I would encourage you to contribute to http://www.banknote.ws it would help build the hobby. Disclaimer I do not own or work for this website.

On top of share bears comments which I agree with 100% If you have a specialist area - country The Banknote book (Owen) hasn't released yet there is probably a draft copy available to subscribers which you may be able to contribute to or provide scans of missing notes or update serial numbers etc.I have done this and found it most rewarding even learned something along the way. He has some very powerful organizations, dealers , auction houses from around the world etc assisting him as they can obviously see there is room for a better product which can only help their business improve as well.
Peters Banknote museum is truly a fantastic site been able to contribute 16 countries myself and encourage anyone who can help to do so. I also do not work for or own these sites just appreciate them.

Like others I use both sites mentioned and was more then happy to have contributed images to both.

They are both excellent sites for references. One for new issues and the other for historical. And I use the SCWPM also!

Most of my notes are errors, not sure if they are of interest on this site.

My £20 Bank of England triple serial number error note has been PMG Certified, and a article of this error published in Coin World's Feb.2009 edition.

It should also be published in the June edition of Token Publishing Coin magazine in the UK.

A reply I received from the Bank of England investigation claims a sheet of 40 notes may have entered circulation.
In my 8 year search for a second example, I could not locate another.

I also have 2 Pakistan 1,000 Rupees with 2 sets of serial numbers on each note, one note has 2 different prefix letters.
