They will gladly take the added cash while defrauding other countries. Probably wont change anytime soon either

Indeed. Maters of national policy change slowly, if at all, in China... and virtually nothing happens there that is not a matter of national policy. Such is usually the case in a police state.

Agreed. Being a police state only confirms that are fine with it as they have a lot more power to bring the hammer down on it then we do

It is fairly easy to determine if they are fake. If they're non-magnetic, they would be larger than silver bars. They would be (primarily) copper and almost 20% larger than a solid silver bar.

It's hard to miss, 20% thicker (usually the dimension expanded) is very noticeable.

@BH1964, I agree, the bars that I received were much thicker than the real stuff. I mean, they also look very sharply rectangular compared to the more wider genuine Sunshine Minting Bar. Anyways, I successfully returned them and got my full refund. Thanks for the responses guys, and please continue to help spread the word about fakes out there.
Sooner or later we'll probably need silver foil in rolls lol.

Based on density alone, silver is easy to fake: an alloy of 20% tin and 80% lead has the same density as silver, and is readily available. However, this alloy would fail both the magnet test (noticeably lower conductivity) and the ring test. Thus, just because the bar has the right dimensions and weight does not make it authentic; more tests are required (magnet/ring) to conclude authenticity.

IMHO, the acid test is useless because if you're going to make fakes, then you're going to silver plate them anyways to make them look right. I just can't see why you would ever do the acid test on, well, pretty much anything silver...
