I received a 20 dollar bill printed in 2008 today with the following serial number....ERS2965296. I know it's not a radar not but is this one a keeper or just another 20 bucks in my pocket.

its a bookend note other than than there appears to be nothing special about this note I would value it at about 25-30 buck but its a nice find over all!  shonit123  Edited by shonit123

I am not a hardcore bank note collector. This one is crisp and new from the bank so for the sake of 20 bucks, I will put it away my other notes. Thanks for the responses.

In Canadian Numismatics, this is known as a repeater note. This would be a 4 digit repeater, 2965 296 and the Charlton catalogue only lists up to three digit repeaters.
The market for these isn't huge, however like shonit123 said you could probably get $25-$30 depending on the collector you sell the note to. ($25-$30 for Unc condition)

Binaries are more for American Banknotes. I guess technically it would be called a binary in Canada as well, however it is not a recognized "special number" in Canadian Numismatics.

I always thought binary was something like 1010110, was thinking that this one was a 2 digit non radar repeater.

secoined - I always thought the same, but I guess binary in paper money means 2 digits.
I believe US bills have more digits, so the likelihood of finding a "binary" note is less than in Canada, which is why there is (little or) no premium.

My brother once got one and the first 3 letters were AUT and the number was 0 so AUT0 and a bunch of other random numbers.
