The truth... I am not affiliated with Rum_n_Cola on ebay. I saw the lady listing the coins under dknies1947 and was thinking about purchasing them. I know the members here will not give out much info when they know someone is going to buy coins off ebay so I said I was inheriting them. The person selling the 1858 must be a customer of the lady selling on ebay and he likely has that coin. You guys are good detectives. I lay my head down in shame as I never thought this would go as far as it did and I am sorry for that. There is no scamming, there is nobody doctoring coins or anything of the sort. The person with the collection is the ebay member I mentioned above. Should of just been honest with you all. I am sorry if the real Rum_n_cola is in this thread too as I am not sure. I bought some coins off that seller months ago and like his username. I will honorably accept my ban.......

Quote: I know the members here will not give out much info when they know someone is going to buy coins off eBay That's absurd. The members here help people evaluate ebay coins almost on a daily basis.

To buy and then quickly resell for a profit. The members here frown upon that from what I have seen... I feel ashamed :(

Daily basis? Every hour. EVERY minute! Ignorance and stupidity, we can overlook. BUT NOT OUTRIGHT DECEPTION!
For your penance, rum_and_coke, donate a few coins to the CCF for distribution next January to the kids in Florida. THAT may just buy your way back into the family. But not without a time out for ... questionable behavior.

What's bad is cracking the coin out of a problem slab, then concealing the problem. Right now, I have more respect for you than chamblee56.

SCUBU: I never had a single coin in my possession. I was posting photos that the lady on ebay took and then asking the community about them to make sure they were legit before purchasing them. If the lady is cracking out problem coins, then I know nothing of that as I have NEVER had a single coin in my possession that I was asking about. MATHEW: How do I donate? If it helps the kids... Yes, I assume I will be banned, whether temp or perm. My apologies

I sent an apology to superdave via email. I will await my punishment, and accept it. Again, sorry everyone for wasting your time.

any lurkers reading this thread thinking of joining CCF to ask for advice should take this as a fine example of what not to do. From what I have always observed members are more then happy to give out opinions and advice on a coin so just ask politely and help will follow.
