Although I have my suspicions, I am wondering how you would grade these two? Thanks!

Ultimately, I was just wondering if these would be AU or Unc. Any thoughts?

AU
bits of contact marks here and there that take away from UNC on the '41 and not luster on the latter IMHO

optical illusion on the '42 obverse
hair on mylar not a die crack running from the lip
it think

nice dimes

Both are Au, the 42 is better struck. Contact marks don't make a coin AU. Otherwise all coins under MS 70 would be AU. But the wear is kinda obvious on the 41, the hair behind the eyes, the high points on the feathers, and on the reverse wear on the bands. The 42 I would say AU55...but the light isn't quite good enough and the picture is not quite clear enough to be definitive. It might actually slip into Unc territory if the lighting showed more details where now there are shadows.

Thanks for the help, everyone!

macmercury- actually I really doubt that the 41 has been cleaned; the lighting was just not cooperating.

Archraz,

You maybe right, it just my first impression as this also can be lightly circulated before pull out of circulation.

My first thought of the 41 was that it was dipped or cleaned too. But if you have it in hand then I'm sure it's just the photos. But I agree both look AU.
