@CC-Ottawa, You are absolutely right. I know some coin dealers selling coins at 6-10% discount to their VIP customers and still make profit.

They just put the coins on the website but RFD members are already buying the set, so don't wait. I'm sure J and M will be overwhelmed by the demand so they'll probably cancel orders tomorrow since the store is already closed.

I got a call from Kevin Siy, the head of RCM products at J and M at 5:16. We were discussing other products and he mentioned the coins were just posted on the website. There was already a lot of demand from people calling in requesting to reserve the coin set prior to today. Those who placed an order with other companies, don't cancel until you call in tomorrow to check on the status of your order. They are closed already. Make sure you ask for Kevin Siy.

From RFD, which was taken from J&M's website: "Our website framework was originally designed to assume all items of the same denomination would have a common tax applied because this was the rule for decades at the mint. However the Royal Canadian Mint has diversified in recent years and now issues many coins and sets with different compositions and purities even though the denomination is the same (i.e. nickel, sterling, and pure silver coins). For most items the taxes as shown on the screen will be accurate but there may be some discrepancies. We manually check each order and will ensure you only pay the appropriate taxes."

J and M does not charge HST on the coin set. They only charge your credit card when they receive the coins and will adjust your bill accordingly without the taxes. If you want to pick up the coin at their Broadway location, call them tomorrow and they will make a note of it and then you pay at the store. I have ordered many items on their website and never had to pay taxes on 99.9% silver coins.

I was the first to reserve at my post office on monday and they did not even know about this set until I told them about it.Went in today and was told I was confirmed as the first in line to receive set when it comes in.Go around to all post offices in your area very soon(tomorrow) if you want to have a chance of getting one at list price.

I don't recall there being so much interest and effort obtaining a release. And from Sept 20 to today the prices realized on ebay have gone steadily up from $200 to $305. A 50% increase in a week!
