Canada Cent 2011 Obverse Portrait Changes

bibd Pillar of the Community Canada 838 Posts	Posted 09/23/2012 01:44 am Is it already known to collectors (who care) that there are minor changes to the obverse portrait of QE II between 2010 and 2011? The new obverse has reduced detail and the initials "SB" are placed differently on the shoulder. Other than this, I haven't yet noticed any other significant differences. And I haven't yet checked other denominations either. There has been no news about this yet on CCF (to my knowledge). But it still may be well known (in which case sorry for the post). In any case it's worth a look for transitional varieties. I'll search through a few more of these and report back later. Update: after nearly 100 searched from each of 2010 and 2011, I found no transitional variety. All 2012 I have seen (not very many) bear the portrait of 2011.
