Hmm...there you go...I take time away & they design new notes...they should've had some competition to some extent. But the same characters on the notes? Shake the system or something...I remember at primary school doing an assignment on a person on a banknote, I chose Sir Douglas Mawson. The Polymer people, have had their day, put some other people on the notes. But instead, $9.3 million & 7 years just chages a design? Put Ned Kelly? on there, Don Bradman?, Pharlap? I don't know, people that the youth of today will want to know more about, rather than the same characters that we've seen for the past while
They look very detailed & new age as far as graphics or cartoons as all of you guys are calling them...so does that mean, we now have them: CLASTIC (plastic) FANTASTIC? or LOONYMER (polymer)?

Maybe we can have a contest to design notes. Although the RBA will only take their mates into account.

Maybe even put Australian iconic places; i.e: Ayres Rock, Sydney Harbour Bridge/Opera House, Flinder Street Station, Barrier Reef, etc.
Maybe a picture of my smiling mug.

I would like to see wildlife. New Zealand's notes are great how they carry through the theme of native birds.

My prediction above mostly correct. Here's hoping the rollout allows everyone the opportunity to get some straight up.

I heard an interview on radio yesterday about the $100 notes. Apparently there are more of them printed than any other denomination. It is a world-wide phenomenon. The theory is that people hoard $100 notes for "a rainy day". Many get them from cash deals and they hoard them for a rainy day. Criminals like them because they can smuggle or launder a million dollars in a briefcase. You can't do that with $50 notes. There has been talk in countries of discontinuing the $100 to stop the hoarding and criminal stockpiling.

Criminals also use paintings, jewelry anything of value to move wealth. Getting rid of the $100 will not do anything to fight crime.

The RBA have today released the images for the new $5 note. After my initial impressions that the note was being attacked by woodlice or bacteria, I'm feeling reassured upon learning the "yellow things" are in fact Prickly Moses Wattles.

These notes are all terrible! The five is ok, but the rest need a new designer for sure.

People are saying the blue is too much, but its the clear strip... You can also pick out the racists out there commenting on the Mosque and how its a disgrace its on there.... Its the Federation Pavilion from 1901. Should make them happy though being from an era of very white Australia views....

I'm not sure whether I love it or hate it, but judging by the public reaction today, I don't think it'll have a very long shelf life. As a result, I'm going to collect as many as possible before the Reserve Bank realises they look like a Petri dish.

Its strange that the colour seems to be more like the original $5 notes from the early 90s (which they changed because they got confused for $10 notes)
The queens portrait is basically the same as the existing one which is 25 years old. They should have used a more recent portrait. She turns 90 in a few weeks.
Perhaps the most interesting thing I noticed is that there is an extra number in the serial number. 16 and then 7 numbers
