I don't recognise the style, but don't pay too much attention to that, with my unfamiliarity with this series.

What I would really want is a close examination of the edge. Perhaps some pictures of the edge may help.

It is supposed to be a tetradrachm of the emperor Nero, but this one just doesn't look right to me.

That's part of the word "Etoys", which is Greek for "Year". Here's another coin of the type for sale on VCoins, which is actually a very close match... worryingly close, to my mind.

The OP's coin, however, looks cast to me.

Thanks for all your comments!! How would one know for sure if the coin were cast or not? Would you be able to tell by looking at the edge/rim of the coin?

For sure it is a fake. Had one of these in hand and they have a large and very apparent casting seam...
