apparently, my second option-coin is a "cast" coin
Not quite--the flan was cast, but then struck by dies!

This coin was made the same way, but the sprues are less obvious. It's one of my favorites.

I still want a Bactrian elephant coin!
Looking for advice on this? Good strike, centering, and legends on that one.
But I'm like JW--always looking for a deal. I'd wait for a similar coin around $175.

Ummm,-I'm-Merely-Needing-A-Few-Opinions-...-Thanks,-Gang

NOTE:

=> I have now shown "4" randon coins ...

=> ummm => all I'm trying to do is attract opinions!!

=> It's free man .... just give me an opinion

Examples:

- I like the LARRY dog coin (Larry looks like a good doggy)

- I like that elephant & bull coin (oh my, yummy)

- ummm, I kinda like the dog, but an elphant is a bigger animal, so it may win the fight, so I don't wanna be eaten by the bigger animal, so I'm just gonna say that I like the little doggie ....

- etc ... you get the idea, yes?

"Please" => Give me an opinion:

Coin #1 => dog coin (LARRY) => 1x (it's like the base case)
Coin #2 => Syracuse Lion => is a 3x LARRY
Coin #3 => square Elepahnt & Bull => x2 LARRY
Coin #4 => siglos Bull x2 LARRY

My opinions:
Best is the 3x as expensive but really nice for it's type Syracuse.
Second is the Elephant unless the Kalchedon is less than twice its price in which case it goes to number 2.
Last is the dog simply because you can do better and will find a nicer one in a few months.

You know you will buy them all anyway so why procrastinate? The total is only about the gross national product of a small country - right?

... sadly, I don't like to admit it ... and I know my wife would kill me to know that:

=> yah, they are all eventually gonna be in my vault!!

... well done dougsmit, well done (you solved tonight's brain-teaser)

Just Kidding (kind of)

PLEASE => give me some sort of "vote" .... hey, I love the LARRY coin, but I also really kinda love the elaphant & bull coin ... ummm, but is it really worth twice as much?

... etc

you get the drill, right?

thanks

Here's my vote by order of preference--not in terms of money.

Coin #2 => Syracuse Lion => is a 3x LARRY
Coin #3 => square Elepahnt & Bull => x2 LARRY
Coin #1 => dog coin (LARRY) => 1x (it's like the base case)
Coin #4 => siglos Bull x2 LARRY

I must say that I have a favourable prejudice for the Kalchedon siglos, quite nice for the type and I've been looking for a decent one for some time. But the obverse of the Syracusan bronze... Next one would be Larry

Batman => I Love that Siglos asw ell ... but I could only swallow so many winners today,so I chose "2"

=> the first one is a coin that never seems to go away, kinda like a loyal hound, so I chose LARRY ... awww, that's so sweet!!

=> next, I chose the apparent winner by everybody => welcome => MR. Syracuse!! (awesome!!)

..... hey, that Siglos is only a pay-cheque away, so the next guy better get his wallet ready, cause it is in my cross-hairs!!

... man ... there are sooooooooooooooo many coins that are awesome!!

... the weird part is, "tommorow night" I may be in a totally different moood!

... owwww, those silly Greeks and Romans => I'm sure that they've minted enough coins to tickle my Moday-thru-Sunday fancy!!

=> who loves coins more than me!!? ... huh? ... maybe you?

=> bring it!
