A friend asked me about a coin he has but since I collect US coins I really know nothing about this coin. I searched online and could find little on it. He would like to know a little about it and maybe an idea of what it might be worth. I am hoping someone here might be able to help. Hope the pictures are good enough, had to take them with my cell phone. Thanks.

The coin came with an insert:

The provided ticket tells all I could so I'll just give a link to a nicer one for comparison:

Please don't think the high price of the nice one applies to the worn one. I'd suggest the high grade one is worth at least 30 times as much so the $150 on the ticket is not far from fair. While the coin is not a type seen every day, the market for coins that worn does not support high prices.

Marcus Aurelius, Bronze from Caesarea in Cappadocia

Obv:- AUTOKR KAIC M AURHL - ANTWNEINOC CEB Laureate head r.
Rev:- DHMARCIK ...., Bare head r. of Zeus Ammon with beard and ram's horn.

E. A. Sydenham, The Coinage of Caesarea in Cappadocia (1933), 88, 341. SNG Cop. 245.

Compare with this example:-

The ticket price seems reasonable as a dealer price. It depends if you can find someone interested enough in the type to need one in this condition.

Regards,
Martin

I just bought one for a great price. Mine has a bit more detail. Take a look.
