Any ideas on the proof-like issue?
I wouldn't be worried if all coins were struck under proof-like dies.

What they tell me is that these coins are struck for proof-like finishes and there will be no bussiness strikes

The non-coloured version has a frosted finish. The coloured version is not frosted.
They are business strikes... made for circulation.

I would be interested in getting/buying these coins if any members willing to sell them for a reasonable price w/ shipping. The cost of shipping from RCM to US is crazy expensive at $12.99 for any coin. Please PM me if you decide to sell. Thank you.

@SA4H, I got my coin from ebay. Probably the cheapest for this coin right now. shipping is reasonable, too.

After actual shipping, packaging, and time he is losing money. ;)
It's only for the coloured version.

Noah-Numismatics,
If you desire a free card, I guess Vancouver Downtown would be the only choice for you. I wish that the mint could do a free mailing system like last year. I can't think of any other places to get the card for free.
It's pity that you live so far from Vancouver. Do you live up north or do you live at the east side of Vancouver?

By my calculations.......

$0.25 cost of the coin
$0.69 stamp ($0.61 +13% hst)
$0.05 envelope (estimate)
$0.20 ebay fee (11% for BIN)
$0.35 PayPal fees (2.9% plus $0.30 per transaction)
$1.54 total cost

He is making a total profit of $0.31 per coin. IMHO not nearly worth the effort of packaging and walking to the mailbox. Even if it took only 5 minutes to package and deliver to the mailbox, his time is only worth $3.72 per hour. I can tell you that I value my free time a lot more than that.

There was a card in my mailbox this morning. Not addressed, so they must be doing a mass mailing.
