I stopped by my favorite B&M a couple months ago and the owner slid this coin across the counter to me. It was previously cleaned or came in contact with a chemical that caused the fields to tone a blue and purple. He knew I was looking for this date and acquired it along with some other beauties from a collection. He said "take this and see if you can make it a keeper." Blew me away! It's been sitting on my window sill on an oak board for 2 months. I flipped it about every 2 days. No chemical treatment whatsoever was applied. It seems that natural oxidation has started to cure its problems. What do you think, another couple months? nlp

I think it's a great coin and would give it a VF30.
Looks very natural in the pic.

WOW!! great looking coin, Noel, would never know it was cleaned.

I would keep it on the sill a couple more months just to give it a better color.

Oh, and I would say VF-30 also.

Wow, the coin looks pretty nice to me as it stands now. A decent vf coin and a Type 2 to boot!

Wow, a Type 2. These are pretty elusive!

It already looks pretty good. I think maybe just a little more time on the window sill would do this coin some good, but I don't think I would let it get too much darker.

Only the IBE section of LIBERTY appears to have been cleaned. Nice Type 2 VF piece with the minor problems seemingly vanishing, the longer it stays on the window sill :D

Yeah, the lightened spot at I_B_E used to be an orange color. I'm hoping it will brown out a little more and catch up to the rest. Thanks for the opinions and grade. I agree with VF30. nlp
