Thanks Acloco and seems like you have solid plan, like you said nothing set in stone, just like a former ice hockey goalie I knew if I could stop most of all the low shots and get 9 out of 10, and the only couple exceptions maybe a post which saved you a time or two, maybe a couple of saves that should not be made, and that just leaves two nice bottle knocker corner roof shots, which are far and few between and you squeak out with a 3 to 2 win perhaps, via playing the numbers....

And some great points there Baseball I agree 100% with your last post as well, esp this quote....

"If they just have to cook the books and rewrite the rules to save everything they will. The alternative is the human race being set back a 1000 years."

I so agree with that, if push really comes to shove, the powers to be will all have to get together at a world table setting, and take it on the chin and wipe the SLATE CLEAN, and start fresh with the next best idea for either individual currencies per country, or a new world currency....

Many may say that would never work a world currency, but you know what until we put it in motion impossible to say....

I know one thing for sure, go back to the bible story where the king built a tower to the sky and attempted to shoot an arrow at God. They were all knocked out according to the writings, and all awoke speaking a DIFFERENT language....

If you believe in a higher power, you got think they may have a sense of humor as this was his first ripple of RED TAPE tossed into the system to make things more complicated, lol....

Humans STRIVE on making things more complicated then it needs to be, with endless forms, no your in the wrong line after waiting two hours you need to be in that line, lol. Governmental departments with so much red tape bureaucracy BS coated on everything they touch, it just seems like an non repairable situation, via doing what Baseball said, burn the books and start fresh with one main system and set of rules for ALL the world, not just the ones who were lucky enough to be born into a better situation.....

Silver I agree. I'm not a fan of world currency but everything will be on the table if the alternative is a complete collapse even if they just have to use it for a short time to do what they need to do to get everyone back on track. Its one thing if a country like Zimbabwe goes under but if a major player in the world economy goes everyone goes and theres far to much to lose to allow that to happen.

Thats the understatement of the century. The saddest part is a lot of it is from a small segment of the population that sue for every single thing and just the complete lack of common sense. It also doesn't help we seem to be moving towards a society where nothing is anyones fault, something else gets blamed everytime. Someone shoots a place up, blame the gun ect. Theres definitely a time and place for lawsuits but we need to start bringing common sense back when dealing with things instead of having to have all the red tape for lawsuit protections

Not that you're my type, Hawk, but... that's quite an offer! I would like a copy of the You Tube video of that, though.

I would really like to see silver back in the $5 to $10 range.

I started serious coin collecting in the mid 1960's, when the silver price was not a consideration. Coins were collected purely for their numismatic interest.

Today, I have perhaps 2,000 silver coins, and I am not really bothered what their bullion value is, but I do know that it is significant. I have been looking at the silver price history graphs so kindly provided. Perhaps 90% of the silver coins in my collection were acquired when the silver price was below $10.

Silverhawk,if the Euro can't make it how would a world currency make it? Besides, the money changers would never stand for a single currency, they would have nothing to trade and manipulate!

Hock has a great point as he often does, Euro failed why shouldn't a one world currency as well on a bigger scale....

Baseball was right, I did mean in a no other option type of situation....

I will say I think my point I was really going after....SIMPLE IS BETTER....

With that being said, is SIMPLE realistic in this new technical world, I think it is no longer feasible....

I keep going back in my head to the EMP blast from 1859, which makes me think we are in a real FRAGILE state, period now....

Heck, the day we all stopped using filing cabinets and put all our stock in servers always working, we crossed a path of possible disaster....

I always laugh at the doomsday show, where each prepper has a set plan they are building ENTIRE plan around, like the doc worried about SARS, lol....

The guy worried about another EMP blast, now that is again a feasible event that could happen any second, or maybe never at all....

Sure Yellowstone super volcano could blow and it will again, but the odds that happens in our lifetime is slim to UN-likely, even though its due....

I agree Silver, plus some of those thing people are prepping for if they ever happened like the Super Volcano were going to just be wiped off the face of the earth. You can only prepare for so much if some huge natural disaster is coming really the only way to survive is to not be in its way. The EMP could happen but who knows if it ever will. Seems a little silly to base ones entire life around preparing for something that may or may not happen and never really living. On the bright side things can be protected from emp blasts and Id guess a fair amount of server rooms (at least the real important ones) are designed for such a case. It would cause a lot of chaos for a time but could be overcome.

I have nothing against preppers or prepping, but at least from the people on the show. But I do think people need to be a little more honest about whats actually survivable like the super volcano. The last time that thing went off it wiped out North America.

Strong point again, probably no doubt the powers to be do in fact prep for such an event....

If it did happen, it would take about a year to fix, so a mess no doubt, but not permanent....

If it does ever happen world wide on a big enough scale, planes may fall from the sky and Marshall law will be in motion fast....

All of the things mentioned above are reasons we need to not just chase technology because we can. I worry about the push toward a cashless society when everyday we hear about security breaches and ID theft. All we need is for some space object to collide with the wrong satellite and knock it out of line and we would have worldwide communications chaos. Several times in recent months we have had flash crashes on the stock markets and everyone claims they don't know what caused them. We need to worry more about our own created potential disasters. Convenience is not worth the risks to me,along with the fact that I don't trust our government to not collect data that is none of their business.

One day the often mis-understood and ridiculed Amish or similar groups with similar lifestyles who can live off the land minus power will have the last laugh....

They live a pretty SIMPLE life eh.....

Nick Saban at Alabama doesn't call a bunch of fancy formations and hurry up O, or throw the ball over the place....

Instead, they play the best D, don't make MISTAKES, discipline is what they are all about. Solid special teams and run the ball, KISS keep it simple stupid eh....

Anyone gonna argue with Nick Saban's results as a college coach, lol....

Luckily unlike tv they can glide to the ground and dont just fall straight down like on that new show.

Theres probably more backups then we know of for financial institutes and government records but I dont really like the idea of an all cashless society. I dont think were close to ever doing away with it all together but its possible one day. On the bright side the better technology gets and the more we rely on it the better it is able to protect itself from a lot of the treats. In reality hackers are probably more of a threat than any EMP could be at this point that wasnt caused by a nuke
