Opinion certainly seems to be divided on this one.
Comparing them with the ones I have I'd go for genuine. The ears on Edward are always prominent because of his lack of hair.
My only concern would be the one weight of 11.74 (0.08 above the strike). Maybe that falls within acceptable limits.
And sel is right about the harsh cleaning but if you're happy with that...

Hate to revive this old thread, but I see a lot of rupee coins, being kinda sorta hooked on them, and as a consequence see fakes at least once a month.

All three coins are fake. The Victoria, look at the braided hair on the face, it should be a 3-dimensional rope of hair, not the flat striata on this coin.

The Edward, the ear is far too prominent for a coin as worn as this purports to be. You can see a wrinkle at 3 0'clock where the casting slurry rose, and the rim appears to be ground down to remove excess material.

The George V, the reverse has the flat detailing in the lower rose and thistles, true coins have more depth, and the rose petals are scalloped, not a series of flat rings.

These fakes are ubiquitous on ebay. Unfocused photos and low prices are one give-away.

Have these coins been ring tone tested against known genuine examples?

They are fakes. Detail is everything. If they let Edward out of the mint with unworn spaghetti ears. There would be a beheading. ars go first So I find it impossible for his moustache to be virtually no existant whilst his ear is untouched. Poor victoria looks like pregnant gargoile with desperate Dan's chin. And poor george looks like a puppet from punch and Judy. Notice all the lettering is virtually untouched and all the same height. If you look very closeyou will see that the letters mould in to the coin as if all one piece. That is because they are all casts.Prob chinese like most are.. If the dude you got them from said they were from his own collection. Either he has been duped of he is telling fibs.
