Maundy sets are awesome, I really want one from my birth year. Do you have the case with it too?

Nice piece of copper Kefiroth,
Seems a shame to separate the Maundy set from its box, and to separate them into different slabs (It would be different if they could slab into the same slab...) These coins belong together... But then I have a set from Victoria and in its box it's like "what do I do with this?"

If I left my sets in the original velvet lined boxes for a couple more decades I imagine that their spectacular toning would just end up Black and nasty. The new slabs at PCGS are at least watertight so they have a better chance in them than the boxes. All the older Maundy coins have been dipped/cleaned to rid them of this black/dark grey toning. I much prefer the colours

Ahh, so it being a concern over toning you made me concerned for mine... I dug them out and I see a slight amount of rainbow appearing on them (almost imperceptible to the camera) They have sat in this box for 120 years, maybe in another 120 they will be ready :P

The newest member to my error collection - a type 2 blank planchet from pre-decimal UK penny. Weight is bang on @ 9.4 grams. EDITED: Changed to smaller pictures

I won a couple of silver lots on ebay. This one I probably paid too much for but I was determined to get it for the couple of decent shillings. This one however I thought I did OK, slightly more than silver price...

Took some patience, but I finally found the right 1902 Half Crown for my type set. Currently awaiting post from the UK.

All though 1902 is a common date it certainly ticks all the boxes.

Seems to me that a mintage of only 1.3 million isn't particularly rare, but it's far from a common coin (especially in that condition). Just my opinion. Jack
