tenbobbit - You definitely made the right choice buying both. After all, WHAT ELSE COULD YOU DO? Both are beautiful examples. Now, if everything goes "just right," you can sell one for enough to cover the cost of the other. IMHO they both appear to be uncirculated. That, in itself, is pretty amazing for coins almost a hundred years old. Of course I don't know what you paid for them, but they are both amazing examples. Hail Georgius V! Thanks for sharing the great pics. Jack

One of my primary collecting aims is to pick up better than average examples of commoner coins and here's my latest. Shilling of Charles I of England struck between 15 Jul 1641-28 May 1643, S 2799, Sharp G1/2. Triangle-in-Circle coins were struck in large numbers, but most show signs of having been turned out hastily and with little care. Those that have decent portraits are usually on small flans and are missing much of the legend or are off-centre. This has not only a very pleasing representation of the King, but great old toning. As far as I can tell it was bought during the 1970s from Seaby and hasn't been on the market since then. .

That's a great find Tom! You have an amazing eye for the spectacular, hiding among the common! That you are able to include the coin's provenance is numismatic frosting on the proverbial cake. Jack

brg5658 - EXQUISITE! The toning is gorgeous. When I look at this coin I can hear (faintly in the background) Hail Britannia! To my very untrained eye, I think the MS 64 grade is VERY conservative. Thanks for sharing this beautiful artifact. Jack

More of a Rule Britannia man myself. Brandon only seems to obtain quality coins and pictures them beautifully. I don't think I've seen a nicer Anne shilling.

It's not a coin, but a medal. I think a few of you here may enjoy seeing it. You can read a bit more about it here: https://goccf.com/t/258993
