A little rough but I like it and I'm resisting the urge to clean all the gunk off it. I got it for what I think is a dang good price but I will see what you guys think. Please grade it and give what you think is its value. Thanks !

No pro here but I would say XF40 details with light corrosion. Nice coin!

I wouldn't clean anything off of it. I like the way it looks right now but if you clean the "gunk" off of it there is no telling what it will look like underneath it

Not to tell you what to do with your coins, but this is a bad idea. You're scratching the coin. To remove "gunk" you just need to soak it in some acetone.

I like this coin as is, I like a nice circulation coin. I'll go with xf 40 as well.

EF-45 if acetone does the trick and gets the gunk off!

AU details, possibly even unc if it looks different than pics, its just gunked up. There is no wear on the 'high points' and weakness on the middle digit of the 'III' is especially common...these are struck up weird.

I have to agree. Look more closely at the obverse, especially behind the ear and the hair below "OF." I don't see a whole lot of wear on the obverse of this coin, and they don't wear on only one side.

My guess is it's a new obverse die paired with an older reverse, pretty believable when you consider how well-known these coins are for crushed dies. No worse than AU in my eyes.
