Hello all. I responded to a classified Ad about 'old' greek coins. the ad was for the UK, but they dont live here so, thats the first thing. Then, I got pictures of the coins. The seller says they cost a lot because they are '400-500 years old'. Ill ask for provinence as their IP address is in NY so they cant explain it as detector finds. Here are pictures: Are these ancients? Is the second one real?

This is what I was thinking: They dont speak English very well despite having an IP from New York. However, their name is a foreign name. Who can tell.
I think they've put a common beaten up 'cant possibly be fake' coin with a fake coin to lure people into a false sense of security.
That being said - it could be an acid cleaned bronze. which can turn out like this. Ill email them again to tell them that if they are real the are much older and what value he'd give them.

The first coin appears real but too worn to have any value a few dollars at best. The second coin is fake and has no value IMO.

First one looks authentic but I am not knowledgeable Kushan coins, so I will go with just a few dollars like the others have said.
Second would best be used as a paperweight.

The Kushan is Kanishka with one of several gods on the reverse but identifiable more by trial and error than seeing detail. Next to worthless. The Fake is a poor fake of Syracuse silver and is worth less than the Kushan.

When you asked if anyone had one did you mean in our personal collections? I do have this one. It is not a fake but an ad token given out by Stearns bicycle company in Syracuse NY to participants in 1898 bicycle races. If you buy one as a real ad token you will pay a lot more than if the seller thinks it is a bad fake. Sorry, I don't have a real silver one....real sorry.
