I got mine today. I thank them for sending me it and dont want to seem ungrateful or anything but I was very disappointed. its a2011 p glacier ms64. I dont know how it possibley got that ranking. it wouldnt go in my bu/au pile even. its got a deep scratch all the way from the top of the nose to his braid, multiple scratches on the forehead, a deep scratch from the bottom of the d in united all the way down to liberty. scuffs on the forehead. the cheek has scuffs too. pics to come later. I dont understand how this could be a ms at all. I was looking forward to me first pcgs coin alot buti think I'm going to grab a hammer and bust it out and put it towards a roll of nickels.
edit-sorry. I cant get pics good enough to be worth posting with my computers camera.

Hmm, I signed up on November 12th and still haven't received my freebie. I guess there really is no such thing as a free lunch (for me, anyway )

I really believe that the coin that I got was very instructional. Mine was a MS63 that when I look at it with a magnifying glass had nicks on George's forehead and marks on the neck that appeared to be left by Dracula. Truth be told I was also wondering if the marks were on the underside of the slab.
However, after talking with a more knowledgeable friend he called them bag dings that result during the coining process. And he actually told me I have a fine coin.
All told I am very happy with the coin that was sent to me. The lesson that it taught me was that I could use this coin as a yard stick that I could use to gauge if a future coin of mine is worthy of sending in for grading.
There was no way that I was expecting as MS 70 - 68. That really would have been manna from heaven, but as a learning tool I think it is a well worthy aid. A 67 or 66 would have been nicer, but I appreciate this in the vein of what I said here. I'm truly not disappointed at all and got something of value to learn from.
It cost me nothing for this lesson and like I said now I have a guage. We'll see if I actually learn something If I really want to learn something I'll spend money and get a 2012 coin in all the MS grades so I don't have to guess about a grade. But that's to easy isn't it. So I really have nothing to complain about.

I was also surprised at the condition of my quarter. If these things are graded accurately, then I didn't have a very good handle on grading. I actually prefer the look of, say, an AU 58 with no real bag marks to that of an MS 63 with gashes on the fields and face.
As I'm coming to learn what the market values, I wonder whether the grading services are educating me or indoctrinating me into a particular aesthetic.
