Haven't posted this in awhile (about 70 pages) but... Caution, the numbers in red are estimates. If you know the actual number, please let me know.

Johnrandal cc-ottawa thanks for that chart. It is amazing that coins are still available, especially so many 1913 $5s.

One of my local dealers claims these coins are being re-stamped, thus the waiting. I don't believe that but in he should know more about coins than me. naturally, the non-hoard $5 golds he's selling are over $1000

If the coins were re-struck, I'd would think that the mint would be obligated to disclose that information. To my knowledge, they have not made such a statement.

What does "re-stamped" mean? They are making more of them?

Quote: If all coins I'm waiting on are not here by end of March, I'm canceling them and only dealing with authorized RCM dealers. It does seem strange that there are any of these coins still available based on the hype over them since before Nov. 28. I'm really losing faith in the RCM. If any private business ran the way the RCM does, they wouldn't last a week. If there are so few coins available, what could possibly be taking so long? Do you really think authorized RCM dealers are going to sell them at list price when some of the 1914 $5 coins are going for $800-$1000 on ebay. That is a bit of wishful thinking. I woudn't cancel the orders.

the RCM has made a huge mess with marketing these gold coins, but I am sure they did not restrike these coins, it makes no logic for them to do it, Only the Perth Mint has done a restrike.

The Mexico mint has re-struck a lot of 1945 Dos Pesos gold coins.

I did not imply that the coins were re-strikes. In fact, I'd bet all my coins to a regular dime that they are not. I was just pointing out the desperation of some shady dealers in selling non-hoard coins since these were released.

Money penny
To my understanding, authorized dealers cannot raise prices until the mint deems them sold out. Then they do whatever they want, claiming that they've re-bought them from customers. Once it says sold out in the website, they can raise prices. In fact, some dealers do not even display "hot sell" items until the mint says they are sold out. This way, they get the dealer discount buying and higher profit selling

Ive done a search of several authorized dealers in Canada and not one of them is listing these coins. I talked to one dealer in Vancouver who has them in hand but wont list until the market value becomes more apparant.. I think the coins will only become available through dealers after the RCM has shipped out every one.... .I notice gold started to climb back today and the UK banks are considering moving to negative interest gold is money lol and hold the gold

Quote: Ive done a search of several authorized dealers in Canada and not one of them is listing these coins. Imaginaire has a 1913 $5 HS on their website for $600. They had the 1914 and 1912 for $800 but are currently sold out. Colonial now have the same 1913 and 1914 HS $10 that are still available from the Mint though they are asking $1199, but they no longer have the PHS $10 listed. I guess some dealers have them and will sell for the right price. Some will hold on to them and strike when they think the market peaks. I just wish the mint would ship the coin I ordered 3 months ago .
