I guess the shipping delays make sense. They announce the sale during the 100th anniversary of the launch of the coin (1912) and at this rate they will finish shipping on the 100th anniversary of the last circulation gold coin (1914).

But what caused to this sudden availability?

Cancellations? People bought too many coins and then regret?
So this could happen with every coin...

Or just Mint decided to increase the amount that will be released to the public?

if you follow the collectors universe thread above which for some strange reason is in their USA coins forum you will see that USA collectors are torn up about this issue and many have cancelled due to long ship waits...Ive been promoting the positive outlook for these coins there as well but its a tough forum to promote anything canadian in ..that being said.....a lot of them are pretty stoked on the issue tho especially as more pictures come out and more good reviews by pro numismatits..lol

my guess is dealers are canceling orders, they seen some coins in hand are dissappointed in grade or they see like the pcgs report someone had advance pickings

I've ordered the $12k set last week. Now, I was told there are only 2-3 sets left one day, on another day 1-2 sets left. This has been the same song & dance for over a week. Something seems fishy... One would think those "2-3" sets would have made the set sold out by now. Serious, what's going on? Anyone have a similar experience? Unless I cancel the order in the next day or two, I'll be happy to post pic's of the "Best" 6 coins... There is no disclaimer on the "Best" reference so I will hold the RCM to task if the coins suck or don't justify the significant premium.

Makes me wonder if people getting this batch here are going to be getting the leftover grades that aren't so good.

I have managed to get a 1913 $5 hs just 1 min ago and was told it would be 2-3 weeks. The rep also said there were no 1912 $5 at all left but there is around 100 1913 $5 hs. If all coins I'm waiting on are not here by end of March, I'm canceling them and only dealing with authorized RCM dealers. It does seem strange that there are any of these coins still available based on the hype over them since before Nov. 28. I'm really losing faith in the RCM. If any private business ran the way the RCM does, they wouldn't last a week. If there are so few coins available, what could possibly be taking so long?

However, when they were first released there was heaps of excitement and people in droves bought the coins leading to them being sold out very fast. Now,due to the huge delays lots got to think twice, some lost interest, and others simply wanted to flip the coins and make a profit so no sense in keeping $500+ in waiting while they can use the money to purchase other coins (Dinos for example).

Whatever the case may I be, I am just excited that I managed to order all 3! I'm absolutely in love with these coins!

With Christmas and almost 3 months between ordering and getting the coins, I can imagine that some people's priorities have changed. I'm glad that those who want, are getting the coins from the RCM,...it beats paying a premium on ebay.

Where can I find the mintage for these gold coins?

I visit the Mint website but can't find any information about the mintage.

The rep I talked to said they were not getting many cancellations and that they get calls daily about these coins. I don't see how that is possible, but that's what I was told.
