Do you think that steven Bromberg is sorting through the gold coins for the mint? Three premium selected for my Shopping Show....... and One for the public to buy from the mint!
Two more premium selected for my Shopping Show and two hand selected for the public to buy from the mint!

@CC-Ottawa...Where did you find the numbers/quantities, for the released coins?

@darryldarryl

See commems post on page 11.

Yes, I suspect Bromberg got first kick at the can. Look for these to be on sale next Shopping Channel Coin Show.

There has never been any duty on any of my orders from the RCM or Canada Post including the regular circulating, specimen or proof sets.

As canuck1us already stated, the hand selected $5 coins are only about $90 over the gold value. That's not bad considering I just paid $500 for the 5oz penny that only has about $175 worth of silver.

My willpower is weak and I bought all three of the hand selected $5 coins. I'm surprised the mint isn't gouging us more for these. Can't wait to see them.

@silverbug - the mint never had a 1912 $10 premium coin listed individually. They only way to get that one is in the $12,000, 6 coin set.

Approximately 245,000 King George V $5 and $10 gold coins dated 1912, 1913 or 1914 are currently held in the Exchange Fund Account.

The finance ministry is going to allow 215,000 coins to be melted and sold as bullion.

This is going to make these coins a bit more elusive and change the survival numbers.

I didn't see anywhere how the Mint is packaging the individual coins. Does anyone know?

"Hand-Selected Gold Coins are presented in a black clamshell case. The Premium Hand-Selected Gold Coins and the Premium Hand-Selected 6-Coin Set, are presented in a maple wood case."

i.e. expect shipping delays.

Only available in the 6-coin set...

"The coins selected for this 6-coin set were carefully hand-picked and represent the very best in the entire collection. It also includes a 1912 $10 Premium Hand-Selected gold coin â€" available only in this set!"

I saw many have chosen the 1914 5$ instead of 1912... I saw that the original mintage of 1914 is lower, but if the Mint is going to melt away so many coins, would that pretty much "re-set" number of surviving coin out there.. and could 1912 become more valuable because it was the first year?

Thanks for the info, commems! Seems like the 1914 $5 will be the next sold-out. Now I start wondering if ICCS will receive a lot of these to grade early next year. :)

Should be fun to compare the pop reports for the next couple of years to the 2012 reports...
