Nice addition, Dearborn.
Is the 2025 Libertad you mentioned a tribute coin?

Thanks Gary.
I'm a bit new to these Libertads - so what is a tribute coin as opposed to a 'normal' one?

Quote: what is a tribute coin as opposed to a 'normal' one? A Libertad tribute coin is a privately issued silver or gold round that imitates the design of the official Mexican Libertad coin, but is not made by the Mexican Mint. These tribute coins are produced by other companies and are intended to be collectible items that celebrate the original coin's artistry.I was not aware of tribute coins until the recent situation with the 2025 1 oz silver Libertad. For some reason the Mexican Mint only produced about 500 of these coins. It's almost impossible to find a BU because most were submitted for certification. These certified coins are now selling for thousands of dollars each.

Ah, ok, I went back and looked, and, yes, it is one of the tribute coins. So I went back and requested a sale cancel on it until I can be sure that one that I buy will be a true 99.9 silver one and not some cheap plated copy.. THANKS for that heads up Gary!

You're welcome, Dearborn. I would forget about the 2025 Libertad and look for other years that are plentiful and reasonably cheap ($65 - $85). I have 31 Libertad years but there are still a dozen or so that I will never get because I can't find them or they're too expensive if I do find them. There are a lot of different weights but I stick to the 1 oz.

yeah, I'm only going to get the one ounce coins. I'm going to buy them in pairs - one from each end (beginning and current years) and meet in the middle.. However, being a completest, I'll do my best to get them all (including the aftermarket one (2025) but in no longer a rush to get that one...
