I added a 1948 Roosevelt dime! LOL. Was going through some things to get rid of and a small bank had a rattle. No bottom opening, so used the old kitchen knife trick and fished it out. Lo a silver dime. How about that?

Quote: Argentum, I have a Roo at Sunset 2010, so 2009 isn't the only one, unless that's the only one you want. Good. The one ounce proof is the one I'm going for.

Love those, I wish I could find them close to spot in larger numbers instead of running across them "here and there". Only managed to find two close to spot over the years . . .

I haven't tried using ammonia yet, but all other attempts have failed that I tried on my Maples, even when the cleaning seemed to work I went back a month or so later and now see milkspots again. If you don't mind the spots, I'd just *try* to ignore them.

Quote: I haven't tried using ammonia yet... Good. Don't. Ammonia dissolves silver as a water soluble complex which could damage a silver coin. A better choice is the salt + baking soda + water + aluminum foil treatment that often works well to clean silver coins and does not remove silver metal from the coin. While this often works it is not guaranteed to work in all cases. It's worth a try, though. Check out the videos on YouTube about this for some good tips on this.

I will eventually do some experimentation on a couple of the worst ones using ammonia, and if I don't like the results, I'll quit while I'm ahead and leave the rest as is under the "silver is silver" mantra. Nothing else has worked and I've already tried everything else I've seen recommended on forums and youtube.

I was using Weiman Silver Wipes ( http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/brow...p?locale=en) and it works quite well. I washed it first with soap and cold water, dry it then using the wipe to wipe it gently so that it doesn't have scratches. Once done, I wash it one more time with soap and cold water. It looks normal to me.

1964D Quarter, from some laundromat machines. The spacing between finds are getting greater these days. First silver add this year, unfortunately have tons of bills and repairs, so probably won't add anything till the Long Beach Coin Convention.
