Hello! I first just want to say I'm very excited at the moment as I have just bought my first decent roman Antoninianus. My Ancient collection only really consisted of the common stuff(Constantine's, Domitian, etc) until now... This Florianus Antoninianus(He was only Emperor for 88 days!): This pictures are just the ones which I've taken straight of ebay so I'll get some decent ones up when I receive the coin. I haven't got round to attributing it yet so if anyone feels the urge to please feel free, it will be much appreciated! Finally, I payed the mighty price of £22.00 for it which I don't think is to bad. What do you guys think?

I think great for a guy who only ruled for 88 days! Cant beat that.
I was going to comment on how odd the portrait is - didnt recognise it. I've never seen even a picture of this guy's coinage!
Now you've been reeled in - put a cap on your spending before its too late!

I've got to!, I've spent just over £50 in the last two days all on ancient coins! I'm addicted to scanning the Ancient category on ebay to find coins ending soon and at low prices; my small hobby is buying and selling mainly modern(post 1600) coinage in job-lots and selling it on to make a bit of extra money(Mainly to fund my upcoming Uni fees). Pretty much my weeks profit so far has been blown on Ancient coinage which I will plan to 'sell' on, however I will guarantee that I still own them in five years time! They are just too interesting!

Quote: £22.00 I think you did very, very well indeed My only Florian was about £15 and its a barely recognisable piece of poop compared to yours. Yours has silvering and looks great, I'm a skinflint and I'd still pay twice what you paid for it! Congrats, keep buying like this and not only will you have a beautiful collection but you'll also have coins you can sell for 'profit' should you ever need to in the future.

Im just concerned that if I stop buying I might get withdrawal symptoms lol. I Have got a lot of coins for the money in the past few days though; my ancient collection has doubled if not tripled in size.

A very nice coin with a lot of silvering. Coins of Florian aren't easy to find in nice condition. I still don't have one of his.

Nice coin. I can't tell you too much about it other than it was minted in Ticinum (modern day Pavia),in northern Italy. This is apparent from the "T" in the exergue on the reverse.

Another good score for the home team. Nice coin and great price. I like your idea of scrounging ebay close to the end and scooping up bargains. It's a often the most fun I have all day. In fact, I'm on my way back to see if I scored.

That is a remarkably good price for a Florian in that condition. Congratulations!
