these were given to me by a worker at a restuarant I go to frequently. I have "talked coins" with him from time to time. he received these about 1 week apart. he actually notice them in is change drawer - and really dosent know where they came from. I know they are the token/medalion that was place in the older mint sets. obviously removed - as the sets were opened (for whatever reason).

do they have any premium value. thanks.

No real premium, I've picked them up for less than 10 cents just to fill holes in my IH/Lincoln dansco/whitman for dates that should not be in there(22 Plain, 55 double die, 1868/1868)

Nope, no premium. I see them at the shows in dealers token binders for less than $1 all the time.

The mint tokens were struck on cent planchets and will sometimes be spent as a cent.

Those tokens are a lot better than those plastic tokens they put in sets.
